Packing and Finding Somewhere to Live

So everything looks like its going to go through on the sale of our little house.  We’re packing like crazy and trying to figure out where we’re going to live now that we will officially be homeless in less than a week.  For the short term, we rented a furnished condo off of vrbo.com right around the corner from our house so that we will at least not literally be homeless.  The even funnier hitch is my in-laws are arriving a couple of days after the closing.  We sure didn’t think we’d sell the house this quickly so now we’ll all be living in furnished rentals in the same neighborhood.   

Now that we have a contract on our house we’ve started the search for a new house in earnest.  We’ve been looking for about a year casually trying to figure out exactly where we want to live.  We’d isolated a community with great schools, nice community amenities and floor plans we really liked.  On Saturday we went up there to take another look since now we are in a position to purchase.  And guess what?  We ended up writing a contract on an inventory home which will be done at the end of December.  There was one home available for a quick close, and it just happened to be one of the floor plans we really liked.  We weren’t intending to purchase this quickly but sometimes it just feels like things are meant to be and we jumped on it. 

This house will be quite a bit larger than our little mid-century town house so the little one will have plenty of space to play and we can actually have company come stay!  One month in a furnished rental before we should close on the new house, not too bad.
