Halloween has come a long way from its Celtic roots. Last year, the National Retail Federation reported that Americans spent almost $7 billion on the spooky holiday; $2 billion went to decorations. It isn’t just for little kids, either. Nearly 70 percent of adults plan to celebrate Halloween. If you’re hosting a party or just scaring the bejeebers out trick and treaters, I dug up some decorating ideas that won’t blow your budget but might blow some minds.

Give a frightful welcome with a homemade front door wreath. Rustic Crafts and Chic Décor has eight ideas that range from creepy to cute. The one made out of rubber snakes is truly hideous. 

Creep on the cheap with easy, DIY Halloween decorations like these milk jug ghost lanterns from Money Crashers. The directions call for black construction paper, but a Sharpie marker would make this project even easier.
