What will you be peddling for National Bike Month In May? The two biggest events of the will be Bike to Work Week on May 12-16 and Bike to Work Day on May 16. Many who participate become regular bike commuters. Many communities, like Austin, are following the national trend and creating bike sharing stations.

This fun celebration is growing in popularity – in fact, the number of participants in has grown a whopping 47 percent from 2000 to 2011. Why not hop on your bike and join? It’s good for your health, the environment and your wallet. Who knows? You may like biking to work so much you’ll do it all the time.

Among 51 of the largest cities in the nation, 43 hosted events for Bike to Work Day in 2010. Homeowners in our Denver, CO homes will be proud to know that the City of Denver had the largest rate of participation that year, when one out of 28 adults in the area joined in on National Bike to Work Day.

Many of our communities are very bike friendly. Owners of our Orlando, FL homes, for instance, can check out the city’s stats that earned it a bronze participation award.
