Summertime is all about sunshine and long, lazy days. It’s also a time of year when guests come in from out of town. This is especially the case if you, say, own a home in Irvine, CA, where you’re just a drive away from attractions like Disneyland. Or, maybe you bought near the beach on the other coast and now live in a new home in Tampa, FL.
Wherever you live, having visitors staying in your home can be kind of a love/hate situation; love the friends, hate the hassle. But, once you get the guest room ready for visitors, and you know they’ll be comfortable, you can relax.
Tips for Giving Guests a Warm Welcome
Unclutter the guest room. Extra rooms are often used as overflow space for storing stuff. Remove all the clutter from the guest room and leave your guests a clean slate.
Put fresh cut flowers in the room. Add a splash of color to the guest room with a vase of fresh flowers to make visitors feel special.
Make a gift basket. Leave a basket of goodies in the room to greet your guests. Include some practical things, like shampoo and conditioner. Add some fun, too, with a bottle of wine with glasses or a small box of chocolates.
Place a guidebook on the nightstand. Leave a handy guide filled with things to do in the area by the bed.
