We’re excited – and proud – to share the great news: Taylor Morrison has been named 2014 Home Builder of the Year by Green Home Builder Magazine. We’re absolutely thrilled to be recognized for increasing the energy efficiency of our homes and sustainability measures in our building practices.
The average home energy rating system (HERS) score for Taylor Morrison is 63, which is 35 percent more efficient than the average new home and 52 percent more efficient than the average home built prior to 2006. This translates into more savings on utility bills for Taylor Morrison homeowners and greater sustainability in general for the homes we build.
Our eco-sensitive building program, Elem3nts™, uses an array of energy saving features such as energy efficiency, water conservation fixtures, and building practices that reduce waste and help save homeowners’ costs. This approach to home designing and building has been a hit with our buyers, whether they’re purchasing new homes in Tampa, FL or houses in Denver, CO.
Storm water management systems and tech, water efficient landscaping, and high efficiency building systems are just a few examples of Taylor Morrison’s green building features.
In a recent Green Home Builder Magazine article about the award, Sheryl Palmer, President and CEO of Taylor Morrison, states, “Whether it’s designing and building homes that use sustainable materials, increasing the energy efficiency of our homes, or simply recycling the building material waste on our jobsites, we’re committed to improving the environment through lessening our impact.”
