The sun is out, the sky is blue and the outdoors is calling. Springtime is the perfect season for relaxing and having fun with family and friends in our own backyards. The possibilities are endless!
Entertain This
If you live in a community with roomy backyards, like in Austin’s Reunion Ranch by Taylor Morrison, invite friends and neighbors for some backyard socializing. For the adults, a wine tasting party is hard to beat. Choose the wine or let guests bring a bottle, share the names of the varietals, then have some blind tasting fun. Movie Night is another great way to go; with a little adaptation, this can be as family friendly as you want. Hang a sheet for a screen, set up some chairs and blankets, have some goodies on hand to snack on, and you’re there. The tried and true pool party offers some splashy possibilities. Many of our Phoenix homes feature pristine backyard pools and spas for your enjoyment.
Outdoor Living
Our homes include backyards and outdoor living spaces perfect for regional lifestyles. If you live in one of the Taylor Morrison single family homes in Orlando, for instance, you probably enjoy a covered lanai. Other neighborhoods, like in the Southwest, feature gated courtyards and options for outdoor cooking and dining, perfect for spending time with the family and entertaining.
Family Fun
Get the kids away from the computer games and have some good old-fashioned backyard family pastimes. Enjoy some DIY ring tossing, create an obstacle course, or have nature scavenger hunt, a great learning tool. Have the kids stage their own play, maybe acting out a favorite silly song (think “The Ants Come Marching In”). Most backyards are ideal for camping at right at home. If that sounds like your kind of fun, here are some camping recipes for cooking on a campfire. Have a swimming pool? Try some of these pool games for kids of different ages.
