We always look forward to big feasts every November and December.  At Taylor Morrison, we enjoy each region’s special holiday food traditions. This year, why not try a few at your own gathering?

West

In honor of the folks who live in our new homes in Sacramento, Bay Area and Southern California locations, we suggest Sourdough Stuffing With Kale, Dates and Turkey Sausage.1 This laid back recipe features some of the Golden State’s most popular ingredients. For dessert, we recommend The Brown Derby Grapefruit Cake, which you can have delivered by Valerie Confections in Los Angeles. This was the signature dessert at the famous Brown Derby restaurant in old Hollywood.

Southwest & South

Cook up a different take on Thanksgiving with Southwestern Turkey with Garlic-Ancho Chili Paste and Gravy. You’ll find the recipe for this tasty main dish on Epicurious.com. Turkey Tamales,1 a staple in Texas areas where you’ll find our homes in Austin and Houston, are great for the Thanksgiving feast or as a way to use your leftover turkey.

Central

Sweet Potato Cornbread,1 a recipe out of North Carolina, combines two tasty Thanksgiving staples.  It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without pecan and pumpkin pie, so mix it up with another recipe from the Carolinas, Bourbon Pumpkin Pie with Pecan Streusel from foodandwine.com.

Southeast

How about a side dish from Georgia? Myrecipes.com offers up Green Beans with Mushrooms and Bacon with a dash of dried crushed red pepper. For dessert, try this Key West Lime Pie, which you can have shipped directly from Key Lime Pie Company in Florida.
