Made in Chicago – The City of Chicago and the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center got together to promote local manufacturers and their products. A search function enables you to find just what you’re looking for.

Made in Charlotte: Home Goods – Charlotte Magazine provides this overview of three local design workshops and products including handmade and reclaimed wood furniture and lighting fixtures. You’ll also learn about other local products from beer, food and drink and jewelry.

NORTH CAROLINA

Charlotte

Made in Charlotte: Gifts & More – Pottery, furniture, hand-cut paper maps, iron designs, screenprinting, leather goods, book making and letterpressing. Charlotte Magazine explores the works of local craftsmen.

Raleigh

The Handmaidens – This collective of area artists, designers and crafters collaborate in trunk shows and local shopping events. The women founded and produce Raleigh’s The Handmade Market, a semi-annual shopping event.

TEXAS

Austin

Atown – If you’re a local, head out of your home in Austin and discover this world of unique gifts, men’s and women’s clothing, home décor, beauty products, children’s items, pet goods and other sundry locally made things.

Houston

Space Montrose – The emphasis of this inspiring shop is handmade in the USA, including a lot of locally sourced pieces. You’ll find art, gifts, cards and plenty of other special items.

Houston Gift Shops – The mix is eclectic and includes an outdoors outfitter, a crafters collective, an art seller offering workshops in hat-making and more, a purveyor of fashion clothing and jewelry, a music shop, a locally-sourced boutique, and a design and lifestyle store.
