A Few Somewhat Simple School Lunch Ideas

school lunch ideas

Updated August 6, 2019

Now that school is back in session, it’s back to our more hectic schedules. Get the students up and moving, make sure they eat breakfast, pack their lunches and see that they’re at school on time, with lunch and finished homework in hand.

While Taylor Morrison can’t come to you (in your new home in Fort Myers, FL perhaps?), we can share some ideas to make at least one of the items on your to-do list better: packing lunches for school.

Try Make-Ahead Lunches

Prepare some school yummy lunches that you can make ahead of time and freeze or refrigerate. Try Pizza Cupcakes, easily customizable to your students’ tastes. Put some leftovers together for Chicken and Rice Patties or this easy recipe for Baked Macaroni and Cheese Cups.

Get Creative

From packing ocean-themed lunches or dino-shaped sandwiches to science experiment references, tap into your whimsical side to create some unique surprises.

Don’t Forget the Cookies!

Check out this roundup of Top 10 Cookies for School Lunches. Sneak in some healthy desserts with Healthy No-Bake Cookies. For something a little more decadent, these Milky Way Cookie Bites do the trick deliciously. Or, go the Banana Cream Pie Cookies route.

Put a New Spin on the Lunch Note

They’re the same idea as those handwritten notes your mother used to put in your lunch box, updated and with a twist. These free Lunch Note Printables have it all: style and substance. The notes entertain while reminding your students how much you love them.
