Between the Oscars, the Emmys, and the Golden Globes—it’s safe to say award show season is in full swing. And the nation’s fifth-largest homebuilder, Taylor Morison, is no exception. While we may not have taken home any golden trophies, we have collected quite a few awards, accolades and achievements recently. We know awards aren’t everything, but winning sure does feel good—especially when it’s based on criteria like promoting gender equality, trustworthiness and being a workplace of choice.
America’s Most Trusted® Home Builder* – 2016-2020
They say trust is hard to earn and even harder to keep, which makes us that much prouder to announce we’ve earned the distinction of ‘America’s Most Trusted® Home Builder*’ by Lifestory Research for an unprecedented fifth year in a row.
America’s Most Trusted® is an annual study where more than 34,000 home shoppers rate the trustworthiness of more than 100 homebuilders. We first earned the No. 1 spot in 2016 and have held onto the title ever since—marking the longest-running record in the award’s history. We’re honored to have built a reputation on something as precious as trust, and are so committed to earning the title in the eyes of our customers each and every day.
Most Admired
Taylor Morrison has been added to Fortune’s ‘World’s Most Admired Companies’ list for the second consecutive year—where companies like Apple, Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, Walt Disney and Starbucks top the charts. Within the homebuilding industry, Taylor Morrison ranked #3 Most Admired and scored best in the areas of social responsibility, innovation, people management and product quality.
We’ve been fortunate to be the recipient of many awards, but there’s something very special about being recognized by other leaders in our industry. Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies rankings are chosen based on survey responses from industry executives and analysts who provide feedback based on company performance and reputation.
Shattering Ceilings and Challenging the Status Quo
Like Fortune, this next award is another repeat. We’ve again been honored on Bloomberg’s ‘2020 Gender-Equality Index’ (GEI), which distinguishes companies committed to transparency in gender reporting and advancing women’s equality. We are so excited to join the ranks of 325 companies selected for the index—and extremely proud to be the only U.S. homebuilder on the list.
We were shocked to learn that just 10 percent of eligible companies today are disclosing their workplace gender policies and practices—but we were happy to oblige. And despite our industry’s status quo and historical lack of gender diversity, Taylor Morrison shows again and again that women are just as valued and respected as their male counterparts. From our nearly equal male-to-female workforce representation, to women making up 33 percent of our executives and 39 percent of our senior management roles, to our gender-equal board of directors—we all benefit from greater diversity of thought and the intrinsic differences men and women bring to the table.
A Great Place to Work
In December of 2019, we had the incredible honor of being named as one of Glassdoor’s ‘Best Places to Work’ for 2020—all thanks to your anonymous reviews. Taylor Morrison placed #42 (as compared to #87 in 2018) and was the only homebuilder recognized on the list. We know we have an amazing culture, incredible team members and inspiring leadership to thank for making Taylor Morrison a place people love working at.
In just this last year, we’ve seen true transformation and progression as a company. I believe our commitment to focusing on our employee and customer experience sets us apart, not only in the homebuilding industry, but in corporate America at large—and it’s so reassuring to see Glassdoor reviews illustrating that our team members from coast to coast agree.
Chairman and CEO Sheryl Palmer shared in the press release announcing the award.
