Guess what, home décor fashionistas? My Model Home Project is back. Get ready to flex your creative juices and show us your sense of style!
The way it works is simple. You choose the upgrades & finishes and then we build the model home. There’s no better way to express your inner designer from the comfort of your living room sofa.
It’s a lot of fun and great practice for getting the most out of the Taylor Morrison design studio. You’ll already be an expert when it’s time to plan your new construction home.

We Need Your Personal Touch
When you open the My Model Home Project website you’ll be provided a city, community name and room in the house.
For example, right now followers are working on designing a luxury kitchen for the San Tan Ridge new home community in Phoenix, AZ. This week, you’re asked to choose between granite or quartz countertops and then to select a paint color to match. Next week? Who knows? You’ll have to check back in to find out.
Whatever our fans prefer, that’s what we build – and you can follow along with all the construction action and watch the homes come to life. It’s just one more way we build homes inspired by you.
Enter to Win 500 Bucks for Participating
Each week new facets of the home are up for a vote. From furniture to lighting, luxury bathroom fixtures, flooring, ceiling styles, cabinets and more. If it’s part of the design process, you get to vote on it. It’s all the excitement of browsing the showroom without needing to break out your checkbook.
And more than just being a fantastic way to play interior decorator, you can enter for a chance to win a $500 Amazon Gift Card. It’s that easy!
Start by Finding Inspiration
If you’re not 100% confident in your ability to see which design aesthetics fit where, feel free to warm up with a collection of new home photos and virtual tours.
Take note of what you like and what you don’t and use this information to become a more informed voter. It’s also great information to have for crafting a dream home of your own. The more ideas you’ve got floating around in your brain the better.

See the Results from Last Year
My Model Home Project was a huge success in 2015. Four model homes were constructed according to your wishes and they turned out great. Let’s take a look at two of those models and learn more about the communities they represent.
Avalon at Sienna Plantation, Missouri City, Texas
New luxury Houston homes in the popular suburb of Missouri City, TX. Avalon at Sienna Plantation offers all the best of master-planned community living with floor plans that truly excite. Parks, recreation center, community events & activities, miles of hiking trails and even an onsite golf course – Sienna Plantation has it all.
Fans were asked to select fixtures, sinks, paint details, sofas, accessories and more for the Florence floor plan. What they came up with was truly an exceptional combination.
Highlights of the model:
- What better way to spruce up the game room than a stunning furniture-quality billiards table. Class, sophistication and fun for the whole family.
- No gourmet kitchen is complete without a custom backsplash. The Ledgestone Mini Stacked Slate looks fabulous under stacked cabinets.
- Glorious pendant lighting by Circolo. The perfect combination of form & function.
Reunion Ranch, Austin, Texas
Featuring oversized lots in the Austin Hill Country, Reunion Ranch is zoned for two new schools. School aged residents will attend Sycamore Springs Elementary and Middle and enjoy brand-new facilities.
The community offers a wide range of floor plan options with one thing in common – excellent outdoor living spaces.
It’s no surprise that My Model Home Project asked for input on how to best arrange the exterior décor.
Highlights of the model:
- The stucco fireplace creates a charming & cozy spot to enjoy a glass of wine on cool Texas nights.
- A dark trim was used to accentuate a more neutral color palette for a curb appeal that truly pops. Combined with an ornate front door, the look is one that anyone would be happy to come home to.
- What an upgrade! Home shoppers told us that the ultimate backyard luxury was an outdoor kitchen. It’s easy to imagine tasty smoke pouring out of that barbecue grill.
