As 2018 winds down to a close, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the year behind us. Let’s take stock of how much we’ve grown and how much we have to appreciate. For Taylor Morrison, it’s been an exciting and encouraging year of new adventures, new opportunities, new communities, and new families living their trademark with us. We know we wouldn’t be where we are today without you, so we want to celebrate with you the achievements this year has brought. Let’s take a look at some of the year’s best highlights together.

1. Kicking Off the New Year with What Matters Most—Your Trust

We rang in the new year with a bang, but it was something bigger and better than fireworks: we were named America’s Most Trusted® Home Builder* for the third year in a row. Adding the award to our shelf isn’t what we’re so excited about and proud of—it’s the fact that we’ve earned your trust by living out The Taylor Morrison Difference and keeping our promise to you.  Our promise to not only give you the best home, but the best home buying experience possible. It’s a tangible testimony to the work our employees do day in and day out—and it motivates and challenges us to try even harder to make sure that we’re doing the best we can do to help you live your trademark life. Even twelve months later, we still feel so honored and humbled by the trust you place in us as your home builder of choice.

2. Springing Forward with New Design Inspiration

Springtime found us not only setting our clocks forward an hour (see our tips here), but looking for some fresh design ideas as we worked through our spring cleaning chores. That’s why we curated some of the most beautiful and inspiring designs to make your home stand out.

We believe Taylor Morrison homes are some of the most functional and beautiful homes available. But we want to help you make it your own, reflect your specific tastes and your family’s lifestyle. We call it adding your signature touch, but you may call it getting that white subway tile backsplash you’ve always wanted.

If it will help inspire you to live your trademark life, we want to share it with you. So this year, we stepped into your kitchen and your backyard to showcase the best ways to design it based on your lifestyle, purpose, and personal taste.

Amazing Kitchens That Will Work Up Your Design Appetite

There’s a reason the kitchen is called the heart of the home, because it’s where families often gather together, spending time sharing a meal or chatting over a cup of coffee. So where better than this space to infuse your style and identity with a little extra pizzazz?

Whether You’re A Fan Of:

  • Sleek, white, and minimalist aesthetics
  • Edgy and quirky elements
  • Charming farm-house details
  • Warm and earthy tones
  • Bright and non-traditional features

These gourmet kitchens are sure to leave you hungry for more. Don’t say we didn’t warn you! See the full inspiration gallery here, and don’t forget to schedule your appointment with our Design Studio today to start your dream kitchen.

Pro Tips to Make Your Private Backyard Retreat

As the long summer days approached and we prepared to spend more time outside soaking up the sun, we dished on the best ways to design your backyard for maximum enjoyment.

The backyard is a multifunctional space. One day, the kids are playing on the swing set after school. The next you’re hosting a birthday bash. The next you find yourself relaxing and unwinding after a long week. There’s really nothing the backyard can’t be used for, with careful planning and attention to detail.

We asked the experts to walk you through their top tips for creating a backyard design that is functional enough to fire up the grill for weeknight dinners, but also beautiful and relaxing, so you’ll feel like you’ve escaped to a resort-style retreat.

What We Learned?

Whether you love the idea of a cozy outdoor fireplace complete with twinkly string lights overhead or large grassy areas perfect for football throwing, the first and most important thing to decide before any materials or design elements are chosen is how you actually want to use the space. Once its function is nailed down, all the finishing touches can be dreamed up to your heart’s desire. To find out the rest of the pro design tips, dip your toes in here.

3. Spotlight on Communities That Will Make You Want to Move

We couldn’t let the year go by without taking a moment to appreciate some of our communities. Across the country, our master-planned communities balance the charm of intimate neighborhoods with the amenities and benefits of big city living. Two such communities that exemplify this duality of living are our Crystal Falls and Travisso communities in the proud state of Texas.

Reasons to Move to Leander, TX

If you’re in the market for a new home in Austin, you can’t beat the charm of Leander, TX.

This Texas Town Is:

  • Home to top-notch education with several excellent schools in the community
  • Packed with recreation, parks, shopping, and volunteer opportunities
  • A short 30-minute drive to the excitement and entertainment of Austin

And that’s just a small sampling of what makes this town so charming and draws many people to settle down in Texas Hill Country—even Taylor Morrison. We were so taken with this area we brought two planned communities to town: Crystal Falls and Travisso.

If you’re interested in a new home with lots of amenities and a tight-knit community, we’ve put together the top 10 reasons you should consider moving to Leander. Click here to read the post now.

4. Growing New Communities & New Homes

There have been so many moments that made 2018 a great year but growing our Taylor Morrison family so more people can live their trademark takes the cake. We’re thrilled to have opened two more Solaire communities in Sacramento, CA: Blume and Treo.

Nestled in Roseville, the perfect spot to enjoy suburban life without sacrificing access to the bustle of the big city.

These New Communities Have It All:

  • A range of sizes – from just over 2,000 square feet to almost 4,000 square feet, with 3 – 6 bedrooms depending on style
  • Impressive curb appeal
  • Unbeatable design features, like spacious kitchens, cozy alfresco living spaces, expansive great rooms, and even special touches for the furry, four-legged members of the family like built-in pet beds and outdoor dog baths
  • Access to unmatched education, fine dining and shopping, recreation, and more
  • Trusted quality craftsmanship and peace of mind

We celebrated the Grand Opening of the Blume and Treo communities on April 4, 2018, with light refreshments, fun activities, and model home tours—all to the theme inspired by a trip to the local farmer’s market. Attendees were blown away by the home designs.

2018 was a year of exceptional growth for us, and it didn’t stop with just the Blume and Treo communities. We’re grateful to say we simply couldn’t list all the new communities, homes, and relationships we’ve been blessed with this year in this list, but if you would like to stay up-to-date on the new developments, here are the best ways to keep up.

So Long 2018
