If you’re anything like us, you’re ready to kick off the holiday season. From gift swaps and cookie exchanges to sit-down dinners and cocktail parties, there’s endless ways to celebrate the season in style. For those who love to host, we’ve rounded up a few festive tips to impress your guests at the dinner table.
Talk Of The Table
‘Tis the season to deck the table! Take your napkins to the next level by giving them a seasonal twist…literally. All you need is a square napkin, and you’ll have a holiday tree in a few simple steps!
Centerpiece To Steal The Show
Fact: Every good holiday dinner party needs a stellar centerpiece. Traditional evergreen and pine cones are expected. This year, think outside the box and refresh the aesthetic with eucalyptus, berries and your favorite winter white flower.
Spread The Holiday Cheer
The celebrations don’t have to end once your guests head home. Send them on their way with a little holiday cheer: a jar filled with potpourri. Using mason jars and a few simple ingredients from around the house, you can create the perfect holiday gift. To make, just pour the content into a pot and let it simmer on the stove to give your home the holiday scent. Here’s a few of our favorite “recipes” to get you started.
Holiday
1 orange, thinly sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 tablespoon whole cloves
1 apple, thinly sliced
Christmas
1 orange, thinly sliced
1/2 cup cranberries
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 tablespoon whole cloves
1 tsp vanilla
1 evergreen sprig (pine or rosemary)
Winter Woodland
1 lemon, thinly sliced
5 evergreen sprigs (pine, spruce, fir, cedar, rosemary)
1 handful juniper berries
1/2 cup apple cider
Place all ingredients from each recipe into a 12-16 oz mason jar and fill with water. Note: you may add more water as needed prior to simmering ingredients in the pot. Assembled jars should be refrigerated and gifted within a week to maintain freshness of ingredients.
