The results were based on the opinions of over 39,000 U.S. consumers actively shopping for a new home in 2015. The aim was to understand how trust in a brand affects the ultimate decision to choose one builder’s home over another. Since trust is highly personal, the study asked participants to score brands on a scale of 0 to 10. The higher the rank, the more deserving the brand was of a consumer’s trust and, even better, his or her positive word-of-mouth to other home buyers.
